女兒的高中 Lawrence Academy 每年的 3月份都會有兩星期的特別課程,
這次她參加 Outdoor Adventure and Leadership 很不錯的一個活動,
也因有女兒的加入整個行程驚險又刺激
就讓我們慢慢看下去~
Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Ms. Lawler and Mr. Rico Maximum Students: 16 Cost: $1,200
What will I do during this course?
Have you ever dreamed of leading a group up a mountain? On a sports field? At a summer camp? In the classroom? Then this course is for you. You will travel to Camp Takodah, where you will learn and practice leadership skills in an outdoor adventure setting. Most of our time will be spent outdoors and will include such activities as low ropes courses, high ropes courses, natural history walks, and hiking. We will sleep in one of the many heated cabins at camp and return to campus for the middle weekend of Winterim.
What will I learn in this course?
You will learn how to read group dynamics, how to facilitate activities, and how to help people find meaning in both successes and failure. You will learn how to challenge people to push themselves beyond their comfort zones and to achieve beyond what they thought they could do. Your teaching skills will be put to the test and developed in an outdoor, experiential setting; you will also learn how to transfer those skills to your everyday life. You will keep a reflective journal throughout the course. You will be evaluated on both your participation and your journal.
Who will lead the course?
This course is run by the outdoor education directors of Camp Takodah, a program with a 95-year history of providing leadership training to students. Ms. Lawler and Mr. Rico both teach English at LA. ey enjoy the outdoors and share a spirit of adventure. They look forward to supporting the students as they navigate the edges of their comfort zones, while testing the boundaries of their own.
3/10 上班時突然顯示有 Fandy 的 line call in 心想是有啥狀況要報備?
(正常情況下是不會打電話來聊天的)一開口
就說媽媽我不小心跌倒縫了9 針,現在已經都處理好了.
因為登山鞋沒有綁到最上面不小心左腳的鞋帶勾到右腳的掛鉤整個絆到,好痛呀~
在醫院等了快3小時醫生還沒出現,
老師就去催促然後醫生就氣呼呼地來抱怨說他從8:00就忙到現在
每個病人都問他這個問題很不爽的幫女兒
麻醉傷口後就把她趕到外面去然後就說我不幹啦~
醫生走後護士一直跟她們道歉
(在台灣這醫生可能被揍或者被PO上網然後網友們就會無情攻擊
接著名嘴們又有主題可以發揮)
老師跟學校的LEADER 報告此狀況,校方立馬打電話跟醫院的主管反應
很快的另一位醫生就出現,立馬幫女兒縫傷口而且沒有收費.
P.S. 最後那位情緒控管有問題的醫生離開那家醫院了..
不知是主動離開還是被FILE...
當醫生其實很辛苦一定要有熱忱不然會工作得很痛苦..
情緒控管方面也比較會出問題.
然後我就學習到
穿登山鞋一定要綁到最高點不然就可能向女兒一樣.
帶隊老師覺得她也有疏失沒有一一檢查同學們的鞋子是否穿著正確.
還好皮肉傷縫的地方和上次在康橋玩躲避球受傷的地方一樣,
這樣就不會又多一道傷口.

縫完傷口後活動繼續女兒說她第二天還參加攀岩呢...
昨天一早還沒起床怎麼又是 Fandy 的 line call in ...又發生啥事?
女兒緩緩地說媽媽其實是一件小事啦...老師要我打電話跟你說
就是我是大路癡今天老師要我們自己獨自從山中走回餐廳
然後我就迷路3小時都還沒到餐廳,
所以學校的老師和警察都來找我,
後來其中一位老師自己也迷路了.(變成一次找兩位><)
女兒說風雪很大根本就找不到路(難不成別的同學遇到的風雪有比較小?)
很恐怖@@ 她很害怕的在山裡亂繞掉了幾滴眼淚走著走著
走到一條大馬路然後就蹲在路旁
被一對開車路過的夫妻撿到
(老婆覺得在大雪裡不可能有小女生會蹲在路旁一定有問題,就下車去關心)
剛好老公是消防隊知道那個營區就載女兒回去結束了這場驚魂記.
其實女兒已經走離營區範圍約4 KM (2 MILES)
還好平常有健身運動在雪地裡走了3小時體力上都沒問題,
衣服也穿得夠多夠保暖.
P.S. 女兒說其實那天有3位同學迷路,其他兩位後來自己走回營區,
Camp 的 Leader 這次被女兒嚇壞了說下次不會再安排這種訓練..
講著講著紅了眼眶. 警察跟她們說盡量不要單獨去山裡
如果真的迷路就要跟著腳印走.
(女兒說下著大雪根本看不到腳印)
那天的風雪還真的不小
Good Afternoon Outdoor Adventure Parents,
Everybody up at the camp is fine. However,
I just wanted to alert you to an incident that occurred there earlier this afternoon.
One of the students on the program got lost during a short hike.
Thankfully, the student was reunited with the group a short while later and is doing fine.
Camp staff had alerted the authorities so the police did visit the camp after the student was found safe,
and met with our students to review what to do in the event of getting lost.
All of the students are in good spirits and will be continuing their program with indoor activities. I am heading up there with Frank
帶隊老師有女兒這種天兵隊員 ,驚嚇指數應該破百, 細胞不知死多少,
才兩星期的活動第一星期來個很瞎的跌倒..
第二星期又來的勞師動眾的大雪中捉迷藏 主角還都同一人而且還是隊長 ><
還好都是虛驚一場..這次活動對於老師和女兒應該是個終身難忘的活動吧!
有路癡這症頭在不熟悉的地方千萬別單獨行動很危險的!
實在是太蝦的經歷值得我花時間寫部落格記錄一下..
讓她的小孩知道她有個天兵媽媽 XD.
也還好她老母我的心臟夠強不然會被她嚇死
